Thanks for visiting my blog; Football Prospector .Com.  I am a lifelong football fan and football card collector who wanted to start a website dedicated to discussing the hottest cards and trends in the football card collecting hobby.   Over the past 25 years, I have been extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to add numerous amazing pieces to my collection and starting this blog will help me get a chance to explain some of the tips and tricks that I have learned while attempting to help build my football card collection on the cheap.

I am a budget-mnded collector who struggles to pay over 20 dollars for a single card.  If I do spend more than 20 dollars for a card, it usually is to complete a current set that I am working on.  Currently, I prefer to collect serial numbered base sets, multicolor game used cards and on-the-card autographs.  I do believe that these cards will tend to hold their value long term. 

Currently I am collecting:

2005-2008 Topps Gold Inserts.

2000, 2004-2006 UD Exclusives (numbered 50 or less) 

All Topps and Upperdeck on-the-card autographs.

Hall-of-Fame multicolor game used patch cards.

PSA Graded 9 or better vintage.

I also consider myself a bargain hunter, so i will occasionally add an under-priced card or two while hunting on eBay.
